On the river

Grey Wagtail

The Gray Wagtail, to differentiate itself from the Yellow Wagtail, has a gray back
. It lives as its name suggests at the edge of streams and often nests under bridges.

Common Kingfisher

One of the most colorful birds in France. Adept at perches overlooking waterways, it waits for aquatic prey (small fish or water insects)

passes nearby to swoop down on him in a lightning dive like a real arrow. He is an outstanding fisherman, hence his name.
